Our durable one of a kind double weave Tonga baskets painted in black are handwoven by women artisans from the Tonga tribe living in Zambia. They are handmade from locally harvested palm leaves and wild twigs that will remain functional and beautiful for years.
These baskets are not mass-produced, they are made to be functional and unique. Stunning on their own, and when hung in groups they are a beautiful textural piece of art. The fine weave baskets are woven by the most experienced weavers in Zambia and are beautifully detailed. A 24" basket takes over 16 days to make which provides a sustainable source of income for their families.
