Our beautiful authentic Maasai Collars (black and white patterned) are handmade out of Maasai glass beads and wire by the Maasai women in Tanzania.
Our collars are created entirely by hand and no two are the same. Variations in size and design may occur. Each piece tells a story. Beaded jewelry is part of the Maasai identity and through our collection, we tell their stories and preserve the traditions of this unique tribe.
Maasai women are skilled artisans who are known worldwide for their beautiful garments and beaded pieces. Maasai people are an indigenous African ethnic group. Maasai culture is highly patriarchal and it is the women who are hurt the most by issues of structural inequality. With us working directly with them, they are finally given the opportunity to progress both socially and economically.
This elegant light weight collar can be worn alone or stacked with other collars and chokers. Maasai collars are also great home accents. They can be placed on a table top/counter or hung on the wall.
It takes an average of 6 hours to make one collar. Wear our Maasai collars with confidence and pride.
One size fits all. Display stand not included.
