The beaded wood Tikar Bangle on stand is hand carved out of a single piece of wood by the Tikar tribe in Cameroon and then adorned with glass beads and cowrie shells. The Tikar bangles at one time served as a form of currency, sometimes used to pay a dowry. In West Africa, beads have historically been used to show status and were believed to have protective properties.
The Tikar Bangle is a beautiful decorative piece and looks stunning displayed alone or in a group. Tikar bangles are sure to add some African style to your home or office and are a perfect piece to complete any shelf, console or mantel.
Each bangle comes with a display stand.
